Dale’s 2000 Winston Cup Monte Carlo Is Ready For Daytona.

BY SCOTT OLDHAM

When Dale Earnhardt takes to the oval in February at the legendary Daytona International Speedway for the first NASCAR Winston Cup race of 2000, he’ll be piloting an all-new Chevy Monte Carlo. And to commemorate the car’s arrival, Earnhardt’s No. 3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus car will be sporting a bright red paint job. The red’s for the Daytona 500 race only—the following week he’ll be back to his well-known basic black.
At Daytona, the No. 3 car will, in a big way, demonstrate Team Monte Carlo’s partnership with its mascot, Warner Bros.’ Tasmanian Devil cartoon character. Taz will be featured prominently on the car’s graphics, along with the car’s prime sponsor, GM Goodwrench Service Plus.
To help celebrate the one-time running of the car in its Taz/Intimidator outfit, Action Performance Cos. will offer a full line of exclusively designed die-cast replicas of the No. 3 Taz-themed car. In addition, helmets and other select Taz-themed memorabilia and apparel will be available for purchase through Action’s regular distribution channels, including Hasbro Winners Circle die-cast items available at mass retail department stores.
For the record, Earnhardt’s No. 3 GM Goodwrench Service Plus car is owned by Richard Childress Racing.
